Doomed to Failure: Yes, the Author of the Article I Just Read Really is Doomed!

I just finished reading an article about how most multi-level marketers are “doomed to failure.” And with an attitude like that she is right. Your success is dictated only by you, not the company you work for or the product you are selling. Your success is not dictated by your upline or your downline. Depending upon your situation, it is not dictated by your evil boss. Your success is dictated by YOU and you alone.

Yes, there are outside factors that you have no control of and they can stop you from succeeding at one venture, the economy and the recession, but it cannot be an excuse! There are not excuses as long as there are lessons learned. I tried x, but y crated an obstacle and I learned z.

My true life experience is I started a real estate development and investing company, the sudden and rapid decline of the market caused me to lose everything and I learned to take more calculated risks (everything we do is a risk) and not put all of my eggs in one basket! The latter being the big daddy of learning experiences!

Your attitude in life is everything and negative attitudes are doomed to failure no matter if it is with your family, your spouse or significant other, or your business. If you cannot keep pushing until you wear down all barriers through perseverance and hard work, there is no success. Network marketing is not about making a quick buck. Just as with any endeavor, it is about knowing what your vision is, setting your goals, building an action plan an following through.

Vision: All leaders and successful people have a clear vision of what they want and why. They wake up every morning and reflect on that vision. They live, breath and eat their vision. You vision is what drives you through or around every wall you come up against.

Goals: Goals are the milestones to your vision. I have my goals written out. I do not share them, but I compare them to where I am at, especially during those times that I feel a little behind the ball. When I see that my actions are actually exceeding my written goals, it hits me like lightning! I get an instant charge of OHHHHH YEAHHHH!

Plan of Action: Just like having your goals written down, you need to have your plan of action detailed

8:00 am: Lay in bed for half and hour waking up (I am not a morning person at all!) I find a big glass of water or citrus juice is a great motivator.
8:30: COFFEE!!! Walk the dogs
9:30: Shower and get ready
10:00: Oatmeal and more coffee
11:00: Voicemail, email, check social media, post content and syndicate
1:00: Lunch
2:00: Depending on the day cold/warm calls or education
5:00: Voicemail, email, social media
6:00: Usually there is some kind of webinar to watch
7:00: Plan following day
8:00: Hang out with Scott and the pups
10:00: Bed, but I never fall asleep before 12…sleeping issues!

That is my basic plan of action. Know what content I will produce the night before and I get to wake up thinking about being productive and successful.

How about you? What do you do to motivate yourself? Do you know what drives you to succeed? Your family, your children, pay off your bills, get out of debt, have the freedom to work from home, get away from that evil boss, have independence, have financial freedom, travel around the world, pick your kids up from school. What is it? What drives you to succeed?

How are you going to get there? Are your goals written down with a firm plan of action? For example, if you live in New York and you want to drive across the United States on a killer road trip and you have a series of landmarks you want to make sure that you see, you will see others, but there are some you just can’t miss, you need a map! Right? To be efficient, you will plot your destinations out and connect the dots for a successful and enjoyable trip right?

Follow Through: Life is the same as a road trip. Traffic, road bumps, unplanned detours are inevitable, but if you map it out and you will have a successful and enjoyable trip.

Your success or failure is only determined by you. Take the time to decide what is important to you, how you are going to get there and stay motivated, follow-through! I guarantee you that if you have a positive attitude, adjust with the current and keep moving, there is no failure for a super star like you. You will succeed!
